It was held on 12 September '26

With its majestic architectural structure, marked by the suggestive two-tone effect of the black and white marbles, the Siena Cathedral is confirmed among the most iconic places to listen to a Christmas concert of high artistic profile. This is where the Chigiana Academy, in the context of 103rd concert season “Micat in summit”, he proposes Laudetur, scheduled Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 21 hours. The protagonist of the evening will be the Choir of the Cathedral of Siena "Guido Chigi Saracini", directed by Lorenzo Donati.
Founded in 2016 through a fruitful collaboration between the Accademia Musicale Chigiana and the Opera della Metropolitana di Siena, the Choir has quickly established itself as one of the most respected choral ensembles in Italy, distinguishing itself in both liturgical and concert settings. Alongside intense a cappella and orchestral work, the ensemble has built a broad and varied repertoire spanning the centuries: from Palestrina and Thomas Tallis to contemporary works by Arvo Pärt, Ligeti, Stockhausen, and Xenakis. Over the years, it has also given numerous world premieres, including works by Tigran Mansurian and Giovanni Sollima.
The Christmas Concert 2025 offers an original and evocative journey through English choral music between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, with pieces by four great composers, Gustav Holst (1874–1934), Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872–1958), Benjamin Britten (1913–1976) and John Tavener (1944–2013).
The Christmas Concert is organized in collaboration with the’Metro Opera and theArchdiocese of Siena, Colle Val d'Elsa and Montalcino.
