V International Opera Singing Competition "Bellano, the town of artists"


The final concert will take place on the shores of the lake with the 'Lake Como Philharmonic Orchestra'

The competition takes place in Bellano, an enchanting town on the eastern shore of Lake Como, known as the "town of artists", and known above all for being the place where the writer Andrea Vitali lives, who sets all his novels there.

Participation in the competition is open to singers of all nationalities, without age limits. Each competitor must present a maximum of four arias from the international repertoire, of which at least two in Italian.

The preliminary and semifinal tests will take place at the Teatro di Via Roma. The final will take place in the form of an 'en plein air' concert on the stage directly overlooking the lake, accompanied by the Lake Como Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Maestro Roberto Gianola, also artistic director of the Competition.

The jury is composed as follows: Ulises Jaen, Artistic Director of the Las Palmas Opera - Markus Hollop, Casting Manager Gran Theater of Geneva - Suat Arikan, General Director of Istanbul Opera - Fulvio Macciardi, Superintendent of the Municipal Theater of Bologna - Elisabete Matos, Artistic Director of the Lisbon Theater - Antonio Tasca, Director General of the Trieste Theater - Enrico Copedé, Manager and Producer - Adriana Molina, Lyric Agent - Victor Garcia Sierra, Film director.  

Awards: Scholarship Awards:
1. Award 1.500 €
2. Award 900 €
3. Award 500 €
Furthermore Las Palmas Opera Award with writing for the 2022/23 season (the Prize will be awarded only in the event that the Artistic Director finds an item suitable for the titles in programming)
Furthermore, if there are voices deemed worthy, writings may be assigned by the Theater Directors present on the jury
