Siena, the Accademia Chigiana inaugurates the 99th Season of concerts with the Toscanini Philharmonic

L'Chigiana Academy of Siena opens the 99. Season of 'Micat in Verte' concerts with the"Arturo Toscanini" Philharmonic Orchestra of Parma.

The Opening concert to the Theater of the Rinnovati of Siena, scheduled as per tradition on November 22 day of Santa Cecilia, will be entirely dedicated to the music of Ludwig van Beethoven. The Accademia Chigiana in fact wanted to extend the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the composer's birth throughout 2021, severely limited last year due to the pandemic.

The evening is entrusted to "Arturo Toscanini" Philharmonic, among the most prestigious Italian orchestras and among the best known abroad, which will be the guest of the Academy concerts for the first time. On the podium Luciano Acocella, established director on the international scene and teacher of the other specialization courses of the Chigiana.

Two Beethoven masterpieces are on the program: the Symphony n. 4 in B flat major op. 60 and, in the first part, the Triple Concert, performed by three young musicians students of the Chigiana Academy and the International Academy of Imola: the pianist Leonora Armellini, finalist at the prestigious “Chopin” Piano Competition in Warsaw, together with Gennaro Cardaropoli, violin ed Erica Piccotti, cello.
