Siena, with the recital by Luca Salsi the Chigiana Academy celebrates the centenary of Ettore Bastianini

A very special concert will take place on March 24 (9 pm) a Siena, to the Theater of the Rinnovati in public building: Sara Luca Salsi the protagonist of the recital that theChigiana Academy has planned to celebrate the 100 years from birth of the great Sienese baritone Ettore Bastianini.

The concert, part of the 99. Season of the Chigiana 'Micat at the top', with the participation of Laura Polverelli, mezzo-soprano, and Milo Martani at the piano, presents a program of opera arias, romances and piano fantasies mainly focused on greens, and completed by passages by Mascagni, Giordano, Puccini, Tosti, Donizetti, Rossini.

In particular, by Verdi, his chosen composer, Luca Salsi will sing the famous baritone arias from Macbeth, Rigoletto, Otello, Don Carlo, and some of the lesser known romances.

Invited to the Accademia Chigiana on this special occasion as his ideal heir, Luca Salsi will thus celebrate the memory of Ettore Bastianini (Siena 1922 - Sirmione 1967), who passed away at the height of an extraordinary international career.

Luca Salsi, baritone born in San Secondo Parmense in 1975 and graduated from the “Arrigo Boito” Conservatory in Parma, is today one of the most requested artists on the international opera scene. For the fourth time on the Scala stage at the opening of the season last December, his career has seen him protagonist in the major theaters in the world: the Metropolitan in New York, the Teatro alla Scala, the Royal Opera House in London, the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Washington National Opera, the Salzburg Festival, the Los Angeles Opera, the Berlin Staatsoper, the Liceu de Barcelona, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Theater, the Rome Opera House, the San Carlo Theater in Naples, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Teatro Real in Madrid. He has collaborated with important conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Riccardo Chailly, Valery Gergiev, James Levine, Zubin Mehta, Daniele Gatti, James Conlon, Gustavo Dudamel, Donato Renzetti, Michele Mariotti, Alberto Zedda and others, as well as with prestigious directors including Robert Carsen, Hugo De Ana, Antony Minghella, Werner Herzog, Franco Zeffirelli.
