International protagonists and new talents bring the musical wonders of the Baroque to life at the Ristori Festival, between ancient instruments and vocal virtuosity, also leaving room for surprising contaminations and transversal projects.

Launched last year on the initiative of the artistic director of Teatro Ristori, Alberto Martini, the Festival wants to offer a different and current perspective on baroque music by dispelling every dusty and stale image, instead giving it a fresh and energetic reinterpretation capable of highlighting the rhythm and overwhelming "pop" energy and the engaging spirituality of this repertoire. To the Ristori Baroque Festival 2024 makes his grand return an undisputed master like Jordi Savall, supported by his ensemble Hesperion XXI; the program also includes prestigious guests such as Ottavio Dantone With the'Byzantine Academy is Delphine Galou, is Federico Guglielmo with the orchestra The Art of the Bow: next to them, the Trio Leonardo and the young and already established violinist Julian Kainrath. The Festival will also be an opportunity to enhance transversal and innovative artistic projects, such as the meeting between Paul Fresu is The Italian Virtuosos, for an intriguing contamination between baroque music and jazz. Another event not to be missed is the one with the Frenchwoman Käfig Companies directed by the choreographer Mourad Merzouki.

«The program of this second edition – adds the artistic director Alberto Martini – is rich in different musical genres and artistic forms: from the instrumental concert to the dance show, capable of combining baroque music and the sweet sound of a viola da gamba with hip hop; from Bach's brilliant Goldberg Variations, to the language of jazz which is very close in many aspects to the music of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. A set of cultures and styles transfigured into an art that is capable of social inclusion and symbolic compatibility of differences and, therefore, still today, good to think about, perform and listen to in a true collective ritual."
