Ravello Festival 2026 • 74th edition

The closing concert of the 74th edition of the Ravello Festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. at the Belvedere of Villa Rufolo in Ravello. The protagonist will be the Freiburger Baroque Orchestra, directed by Sir Simon Rattle, with Isabelle Faust on the violin. The appointment is an Italian exclusive for the German group led by Rattle.

The first part of the evening is dedicated to the Concerto for violin and orchestra in D minor op. post. of Robert Schumann. The solo part is entrusted to Isabelle Faust, flanked by the Freiburger Baroque Orchestra under the direction of Sir Simon Rattle.

Complete the program la Symphony no. 2 in C major op. 61 of Robert Schumann, entrusted to the Freiburger Baroque Orchestra it's at Sir Simon Rattle. The concert thus proposes two different dimensions of Schumann's orchestral writing: that of the dialogue between soloist and orchestra and the symphonic dimension.

The entire program is dedicated to Robert Schumann and builds the final evening of the Festival around two central forms of the nineteenth-century repertoire: the solo concerto and the symphony.
