Lamberto Brunelli Award, won by Japanese pianist Rikako Tsujimoto
The thirteenth edition of the Lamberto Brunelli Prize National Piano Competition concluded at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza
It ended on April 14, 2024 to the Olympic Theater of Vicenza the XIII National Piano Competition Lamberto Brunelli Prize: the winner was the Japanese pianist Rikako Tsujimoto, born in 1998, who also won the Audience Award.

The musician from the Rising Sun defeated the other two finalists, Paolo Ehrenheim and Matteo Di Bella, performing the Concerto n 1 in E minor or 11 of Chopin With the'Regional Orchestra Filarmonia Veneta. The young artist's victory was decreed by the jury chaired by Andrea Lucchesini It's composed by Mariangela Vacatello, Claudio Ambrosini, Stephen Lorenzetti is Sonig Tchakerian, artistic director of the “Settimane Musicali al Teatro Olimpico”, a festival that organizes the Competition together with the Brunelli family.

“This 13th edition was truly engaging due to the high level of the pianists who participated, he says Sonig Tchakerian. The Brunelli Prize has now entered the Italian musical tradition. Certainly among the most important competitions at national level.”

Rikako Tsujimoto wins a scholarship of 1,500 euros made available by the Brunelli family together with a concert tour at prestigious musical institutions in Italy: the Settimane Musicali at the Teatro Olimpico 2025 as part of the Youth Project; Asolo Musica as part of the Music in museums exhibition at the Santa Caterina cloister in Treviso; Friends of Music of Florence as part of the Fortissimissimo project; Friends of Music of Padua as part of the Domenica in Musica review at the Sala dei Giganti in Padua and for the Pinerolo Academy of Music Foundation.

Isa Trotta is Teodora Kapinkovska, both Italians share the scholarship of 500.00 euros for the best performance of 'Ein Altes Albumblatt' by Silvio Omizzolo offered by the Omizzolo Peruzzi Music Foundation.

Established in 2011 and named after the figure of Lamberto Brunelli, a member and supporter of the Festival who passed away in 2010, every year the Award attracts young pianists from all over Italy attracted by the great opportunity represented by the competition which combines artistic and professional growth.

A launching bridge between study paths and professional careers, the Lamberto Brunelli Prize is created in co-production with the Arrigo Pedrollo Conservatory of Vicenza.

Rikako Tsujimoto

Born in Japan in 1998, Rikako Tsujimoto graduated with honors from the University of the Arts in Tokyo under Professor Hiroshi Arimori, and obtained 110 cum laude and honorable mention at the “A. Steffani” under the guidance of Massimiliano Ferrati.
She has held several solo concerts in Japan and Italy, and has performed in the United States, Germany, the Czech Republic, Dubai, Poland and Spain. He played with the Orchestra Concertante, the Kaliningrad Symphony Orchestra and the City of Grosseto Orchestra.
Rikako Tsujimoto obtained the 2nd prize at the “Warsaw Grand Prix” international piano competition in Poland, the 2nd prize at the “Giulio Rospigliosi – Schumann Prize 2022” international piano competition in Italy, the 5th prize at the Palma D'oro piano competition Finale Ligure in Italy, 2nd prize at the “Sergei Rachmaninov” International Piano Competition in Japan, 3rd prize at the “F. Chopin – Asia”.
She was also a finalist in the Clavicologne International Piano Competition in Germany and the Chieti International Piano Competition in Italy.
