After a real boom in subscribers - three hundred - from at least fifty regional musical institutes, and an enthusiastic closure of the fifth edition, which took place in complete safety at the FICO Eataly World Congress Center last October, with the extraordinary participation of Danilo Rossi, first viola of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the new edition of the Giuseppe Alberghini Prize restarts, the largest classical music competition in the Emilia-Romagna Region, established in 2015 by the Reno Galliera Union, from an idea of the tenor Cristiano Cremonini, Artistic Director , in partnership with the Teatro Comunale di Bologna and in collaboration with the Musica Insieme Foundation, theInternational Piano Academy of Imola and other major musical institutions. The competition is unique in the area and is confirmed as the largest regional music competition, able to embrace the main types of instruments of the classical tradition. The selections will take place from 06 to 15 September 2021, foresee different categories: Piano - Solo strings - Solo winds - Classical guitar - Chamber instrumental ensembles - Vocal music - Composition. The jury for this new edition of the Alberghini Prize also includes very different artists such as the violist Danilo Rossi, the bass Carlo Colombara and the musical, performance and multimedia art group Fontana MIX Ensemble.
Prizes: The winner of the overall first prize of category A and B of each of the sections I-II-III-IV will receive a prize consisting of educational / musical material offered by Lions Club International and free subscriptions for the "Music for Schools" season , offered by the Musica Insieme Foundation of Bologna. For the other categories, cash prizes from € 150 to € 300.

More information on the Contest

The presence on the jury of important representatives of the national classical music scene was significant. Danilo Rossi, first viola of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Katia Foschi, first horn of the Teatro Comunale of Bologna and the internationally renowned bass Carlo Colombara, for the "Vocal Music" section, inaugurated in 2020.
