The winners of the XXX Iris Adami Corradetti Opera Competition were awarded
The German soprano Ann-Kathrin Niemczyk, the Korean baritone Youngjun Park and the Korean tenor Seok Jong Baek are the winners of the competition organized by the Municipality of Padua.
It ended on 10 October a Padua, in the Verdi Theater, the XXX International Opera Competition dedicated to the famous soprano Iris Adami Corradetti.

Ten young promises of opera who performed on the stage of the Verdi Theater in the final evening presented by Elena Filini with the extraordinary participation ofOrchestra of Padua and Veneto directed by Nicola Simoni.

Among 205 young singers from all over the world, who arrived in the city of the Saint on 5 October for the first stages of the competition, the shortlist of finalists was selected in an intense week of auditions.

To evaluate the young artists, the commission chaired by Mara Zampieri, It's composed by Peter Mario Katona, Covent Garden London; Christoph Seuferle, Deutsche Oper of Berlin; Robert Körner, Wiener Staatsoper; Annette Weber, Zurich Opera; Evamaria Wieser, Salzburg Festival and Lyric Opera Chicago; Renate Kupfer, Casting Consultant; Cecilia Gasdìa, Arena di Verona Foundation; Alessandro Di Gloria, Teatro Massimo Palermo; Stefano Canazza, Mario del Monaco Municipal Theater Treviso; Alessandro Ariosi, Ariosi Management.

On the podium there is a soprano, a baritone and a tenor. Before classified And Ann-Kathrin Niemczyk, 21, the youngest of the finalists, born in Germany. His interpretations of "Dich teure Halle" from Tannhäuser by Wagner and "I lived for art" from Tosca by Puccini. Wins the second place the thirty year old baritone Youngjun Park from South Korea who performed the "Prologue" from clowns di Leoncavallo and "Enemy of the fatherland" from Andrea Chenier by Giordano. There third position it is up to the Korean tenor SeokJong Baek, who performed two of the most famous arias written by Giacomo Puccini: "And the stars shone" from the Tosca And "No sleep" from the Turandot.

The musical gala, followed with shared interest by the large audience, also saw the assignment of three scholarships: the first, dedicated to the memory of Lucia Valentini Terrani, to the Italian tenor Davide Tuscano 26 years old, the second, in memory of the baritone Paolo Silveri, to the Korean baritone Jungmin Kim 29 years old, the third, named after Antonio Favarato, the Spanish soprano Rosalía Manuela Cid Tarrio aged 24.

The other four finalists are the two sopranos from Ukraine Viktoriia Melnyk of 30 years e Yulia Merkudinova, the Italian soprano Elisa Verzier 28 years old and the thirty year old tenor Beomjin Kim from South Korea.

The Competition represents a page in the musical history of Padua. The first edition dates back to 1985, when they wanted to honor the figure of Iris Adami Corradetti - a great artist, distinguished singing teacher, enlightened theater organizer - by naming a Singing Competition.

The event, promoted by the Municipality of Padua (Culture, Tourism, Museums and Libraries Sector - Events and Shows Service) has grown over the years, fueling the expectations of the many young people who participate in the future career in the world of opera.
