Pietrasanta in Concert 2022 - XVI edition
At the Pietrasanta Festival it is "The Year of the Violin", guests of great international stars from Renaud Capuçon to Salvatore Accardo and Maxim Vengerov, but also the cellist Jing Zhao and the flautist Andrea Griminelli
In Versilia from 22 to 31 July 2022 come back Pietrasanta in Concert: the 16th edition of the review conceived and directed by the Belgian violinist Michael Guttman will propose ten evenings of great music with some of the most acclaimed international artists. It will be the crossroads of the world, Pietrasanta, with over thirty soloists on the bill from Jerusalem, from the city of Odessa in Ukraine, from Argentina and from Swiss, from Milan and from China, from Brussels, Paris is Florence. Absolute protagonist of Pietrasanta in Concert 2022 it will be there violin with its most popular performers, legends of the bow from Salvatore Accardo to Renaud Capuçon to Maxim Vengerov, but there will also be room for the cello of Jing Zhao, the flute of Andrea Griminelli, and there will be no shortage of opera and tango. The concerts as usual will mainly take place in Cloister of Sant'Agostino, while the Piazza Duomo the heart of the city will be the stage of the traditional free concert, this year dedicated to Tango (26 July), and for the opera evening the festival will reach the Teatro dell'Olivo di Camaiore (July 27).

The 10 concerts

I am five the evenings that Pietrasanta in Concert 2022 dedicates to violin: The legendary French violinist Renaud Capuçon, guest for the first time at the Festival, will be the protagonist of the opening concert the July 22nd, when it will play al Cloister of Sant'Agostino with the Ukrainian violinist Oleg Kaskiv and Soloists of the Menhuin Academy; scheduled Bach, Kreisler is Schubert. The 23 July Extraordinary returns for the second time in Pietrasanta Maxim Vengerov to try his hand at the scores of Brahms together with the pianist Denis Kozhukin, to the Chinese cellist Jing Zhao, at the same Michael Guttman and to the violist Lise Berthaud. The July 24 the great Maestro will return to the festival in the double role of conductor and soloist Salvatore Accardo, expected together with Laura Gorna. With them too Ermanno Calzolari on the double bass, Cecilia Radic on the cello, Francesco Fiore to viola, Laura Manzini at the piano, and theItalian Chamber Orchestra. The concert features pieces by Vivaldi, Rossini, de Sarasate, Piazzolla, Bottesini. The July 29 it will be the turn of the young virtuosos of the violin Marc Bouchkov is Aleksey Semenenko who will perform together with the Brussels Chamber Orchestra; with them the pianist Chantal Balestri is Jing Zhao on the cello, on poster 'Youth, virtuosity and friendship', with pieces of Ysaÿe, Saint-Saëns, de Sarasate, Winkler. The July 30, couple on stage and also in life, the violinists Pavel Vernikov, Ukrainian from Odessa e Svetlana Makarova, Muscovite, will perform with the Ukrainian pianist Alexey Botvinov, president and artistic director of the prestigious “Odessa Classic”, accompanied by Brussels Chamber Orchestra.

Pietrasanta in Concert will range beyond the violin with the other five concerts on the bill: Il July 25 the festival will bring to Versilia the scent of the Italian musical institution par excellence, La Scala in Milan: together with the cellos of Jorge Bosso and of Jing Zhao, to the violin of Michael Guttman and on the clarinet by Fabrizio Meloni in fact, the protagonists will be Percussionists of the Scala, in an eclectic concert featuring music by Bach, Liszt, Shostakovich is Frank Zappa, as well as compositions of the same Jorge Bosso. The next day, July 26, it will be the turn of the always loved one free concert that the festival offers every year to the city of Pietrasanta on the Piazza Duomo. In this edition it will be dedicated to tango with the masterpieces of Piazzolla interpreted by Michael Guttman to the violin, Ariel Eberstein, contrabass, Jing Zhao, cello, Lysandre Donoso, bandoneon, Ivo De Greef, piano with the participation of some dancers of tango coming directly from Argentina. The July 27 Pietrasanta in Concerto will make a foray intoItalian opera, moving for one evening at Teatro dell'Olivo di Camaiore where the soprano's voices will be heard Laura Barras and the baritone Richard Heim, accompanied on the piano by Irene Puccia in a musical journey that ranges between Mozart arias of the Magic Flute is Don Giovanni, to the Rossini of the Barber of Seville to the Puritans of Bellini and more. The July 28 will be the protagonist for the first time on the stage of Pietrasanta on Jerusalem International Festival with the pianist Victor Stanislavsky, who will perform together with Asi Mathathias (violin), Jing Zhao (cello), Tomoko Akasaka (purple) ed Enrico Fagone (double bass) in a music program by Schubert. The grand finale of the review, on July 31, will be entrusted for the third consecutive year to the famous flutist Andrea Griminelli, considered the number one in the world. Accompanied by Eleonora De Poi to the violin and give Cameristi of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Griminelli will propose a sparkling evening entirely dedicated to Mozart.
