Sicilian Symphony Orchestra Presents

"62. Concert Season"
The Sicilian Symphony Orchestra Foundation welcome the new year 2022 with a bubbly New Year's concert expected in double replication, on 1January (6 pm) to Politeama Garibaldi of Palermo, and the January 2 (5 pm) a Trapani to the Pardo Theater.

On the podium of the Or Sicilian Symphony Orchestra the London director will go up Neil Thomson, the extraordinary Serbian virtuoso soloist on the violin Stefan Milenkovich.

The program starts with a spirited one Overture of Franz von Suppé (from the operetta Light Cavalry), continues with Camille Saint-Saëns, of which we will listen to a piece composed in 1863 for the 19 year old but already extraordinary violinist Pablo de Sarasate, theIntroduction and Rondò capriccioso op. 28. And of Pablo de Sarasate of course the overwhelming, virtuosic can not be missing Fantasy on the themes of Carmen by Bizet. The poster then ranges in different areas and times with two arrangements for violin and strings, gods Three preludes of George Gershwin and of the famous Bohemian Rhapsody of Freddie Mercury, before returning to the Viennese tradition with the enthralling phantasmagoria of waltzes and polkas: Gold and silver of Franz Lehàr, and the gems of Johann Strauss jr, Kaiserwalzer (Emperor's Waltz), Champagner-Polka, An der schönen blauen Donau (On the beautiful blue Danube), Tritsch-Tratsch-Polka.
