Orchestra of Tuscany, Nil Venditti conducts the Christmas Concert at the Verdi Theater in Florence and in the Region

To Florence the Orchestra of Tuscany ORT will be on stage at the Verdi Theater, as per tradition, for the Christmas concert scheduled for the afternoon of Vigil (December 24th at 17).

Back on the podium Nil Venditti, a young Italian-Turkish promise on which theORT has been betting for a couple of seasons entrusting her with the task of principal guest conductor. And the brilliant Turkish pianist and composer Fazil Say, universally considered artist of reference, the Symphonic Dances, a 2015 work that blends Western musical writing with the typical rhythms and characters of traditional Turkish dances. With Fazil Say, who stated that he is aiming "by nature and by desire… to unite people by means of a music without borders, not even mental ones"And who instead" suffered the harassment of an authoritarian regime pretextly founded on religious dogmatism ", as the ORT underlines in the presentation of the concert, the young Nil Venditti has woven a very fruitful professional relationship, after collaborating with the Camerata Salzburg.

In the Christmas program proposed by the Orchestra of Tuscany, the Symphonic Dances will be preceded by the Concerto for violin and orchestra op. 64 of Felix Mendelssohn, among the most famous concerts of all time and cornerstone of international repertoires. The Russian violinist will perform it Alina Ibragimova, born in 1985, trained in two schools that are true forges of talent, Gnesin in Moscow and Yehudi Menhuin in England.

To open the evening, the overture from the two Rossini comic operas Cinderella is The Barber of Seville.

Before arriving at the Verdi Theater, the production will stop in Figline (December 18), Poggibonsi (December 21), Piombino (December 22), Pescia (December 23).
