Teatro alla Scala Foundation Presents

“ Season 2023/24 | Singing recital”
Lisette Oropesa returns to the protagonist Teatro alla Scala a few weeks after the extraordinary concert that saw her shine together with the tenor Benjamin Bernheim: the American star will take the stage at the Piermarini on Sunday May 19, 2024 for the Singing Recital Season, accompanied on the piano by Beatrice Benzi.

The layout, refined and original, ranges from the chamber arias of Italian bel canto to the canciones of the great Spanish composers, concluding with the lively melodies of the zarzuela. Between virtuosity and lyricism, the setlist includes pieces of Mercadante, Bellini is Donizetti, a song by Schubert on famous verses by Metastasio, songs by Rodrigo, de Do it, Joaquin Nin and finally two pieces taken from the popular repertoire of the most famous zarzuele, "La tabernera del puerto" by Pablo Sorozabal  and “El barberillo de Lavapiés“ by Francisco Asenjo Barbieri.

At La Scala Lisette Oropesa was applauded as Amelia in Masnadieri directed by Michele Mariotti; he participated on 7 December 2020 in the evening ... a riveder le stelle, in which he performed the aria della follia from Lucia di Lammermoor under the direction of Riccardo Chailly; in 2021 she was the protagonist of Handel's Theodora in concert form with Maxim Emelyanychev and the baroque ensemble Il pomo d'oro; in 2022 she was Giulietta in Capuleti ei Montacchi directed by Speranza Scappucci.
