Dedication, passion and humility together with incredible artistic and vocal skills have made Mietta Sighele famous all over the world.

Born in Rovereto, she studied in Trento and at the school of the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, winning the 1959 "Voci Nuove" competition at the Experimental Theater in Spoleto.
He made his debut at the Festival dei Due Mondi in La Bohème, under the baton of Thomas Schippers, directed by Giancarlo Menotti.
In addition to the Puccini repertoire, she also performed the French, Slavic and Russian ones (Bizet, Charpentier, Massenet, Tchaikovsky, Janácek, Musorgsky) and was a fine interpreter of eighteenth-century Italy, from Traetta to Paisiello, as well as of the twentieth century, in works by Barber , Pizzetti, Poulenc and Rota.
He curated ancient and modern concert music and oratorio. During the Perosian year, he inaugurated the Sala Nervi in the Vatican with the "Christmas of the Redeemer" in the presence of Pope Paul VI.
She has been invited to the most important theaters in the world: Scala di Milano, Arena di Verona, Teatro Comunale di Firenze, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, San Carlo di Napoli, Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, Staatsoper Hamburg, Staatsoper Vienna, Staatsoper Monaco di Bavaria, Paris Opera, Chicago Lyrics Center Opera, Prague Spring Music Festival, Covent Garden in London, Metropolitan in New York, Concert Gebouw in Amsterdam, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Sydney Opera House, Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo, etc.
He has sung with Riccardo Muti, Zubin Metha, Efrem Kurtz, Giannandrea Gavazzeni, Yuri Ahronovitch, Tullio Serafin, Thomas Schippers, Herbert Von Karajan and George Prêtre, while among the most famous partners are Giuseppe Di Stefano, Mario Del Monaco, Richard Tucker, Gianni Raimondi, Luciano Pavarotti, Alfredo Krauss, Veriano Luchetti and Josè Carreras.
For 5 years he taught at the Experimental University of Spoleto and is present on the juries of various national and international competitions. Puccini Prize 1999.
Member of the Accademia degli Agiati, he is also artistic director of the International Competition for Young Opera Singers "Riccardo Zandonai".
In 2010 she was invited by Prof. Beniamino Quintieri, Commissioner General of the Government for the Universal Exhibition of Shanghai 2010 "Better City, Better Life" to create an extraordinary edition of the "Riccardo Zandonai" Competition in the Italian Pavilion.
