“ Season 2023 – 24 | Concerts ”
Always in love with the magic of cinema and fascinated by splendid film music, the "king of tenors" Jonas Kaufmann dedicated his most recent album to this passion, The Sound of Movies, an opportunity for a series of concerts in various cities in Europe. Saturday March 2, 2024 (8pm) the famous German tenor will present this fascinating program at San Carlo Theater of Naples, where he is an awaited and frequent guest (among his most recent appearances, Die Walküre last spring, while he will return to the Neapolitan stage in April, starring in Ponchielli's La Gioconda.) Accompanied bySan Carlo Orchestra – guided for the occasion by the baton of Jochen Rieder who debuts at the Neapolitan Lirico – Jonas Kaufmann will propose an exciting musical journey through great cinema, interpreting the most iconic songs from the soundtracks of films such as Love Story, Gladiator, Once Upon a Time in America, The Great Caruso, West Side Story, South Pacific, Nuovo Cinema Paradiso and many others... music by Nino Rota, Bernard Herrmann, Max Steiner, John Williams, Ennio Morricone. ~ (Jonas Kaufmann, photo credit Gregor Hohenberg)
