Prince Albert of Monaco is the new Ambassador of the Paganini Prize in Genoa
The initiative is part of the Prize relaunch project; Prince Albert will receive the honorary certificate during a ceremony scheduled in Genoa in June
Has a new ambassadors exceptional in the figure of the prince Albert of Monaco, the Paganini Prize of Genoa, one of the most authoritative international violin competitions. Founded in 1954, the Award reaches its 57th edition this year, which will end in October at the Teatro Carlo Felice.

A lot of media attention aroused the last edition, with the victory of the young and very talented violinist from Salerno Giuseppe Gibboni – now launched towards a brilliant international career – which brought the Paganini Prize back to Italy after 24 years. Since its foundation the Competition has awarded notable artists, including Salvatore Accardo, Gidon Kremer, Ilya Grubert and in more recent times, Massimo Quarta, Giovanni Angeleri, Leonidas Kavakos, Ilya Gringolts.

In 2022, the 240th anniversary of the birth of Niccolo Paganini, the City of Genoa has undertaken the relaunch of the Competition, giving life to a large project that aims to promote the figure of the famous Genoese musician across the board.

In this context, the appointment of an Ambassador of excellence for the Paganini Prize, now also represented in the world by the prestigious figure of Prince Albert of Monaco who will receive the honorary certificate during a ceremony scheduled in Genoa next June.

The Prize is today not only a musical competition of absolute excellence, as it has always been, but has taken on the characteristics of a real strategic asset to project the image of Genoa and its extraordinary cultural heritage in Italy and in the world.».
