Classic music The classic music it has always been a cornerstone of The Sounds of the Dolomites, and this year the September 1st on the occasion ofDawn of the Dolomites, one of the most popular events of the Festival, which returns to its "historic" setting of Col Margherita, in Val di Fassa. It belongs to the artistic director Mario Brunello greet the sunrise at an altitude of 2500 m, with his cello accompanied by Polish Cello Quartet, made up of leading instrumentalists of the new generation. To color that unique moment of suspension between darkness and light with sounds will be a “symphonic” program, albeit for only 5 cellos, with two original and rare transcriptions of the Bolero of Ravel he was born in Cello Concerto in B min. op. 104 of Antonín Dvořák, in addition to the fascinating song Earth Air of John Sollima. The concert on the calendar will still be dedicated to classical soundsSeptember 8 in one of the new settings of the Festival, Sagron Mis, at the foot of the Pale di San Martino and the Vette Feltrine: the quintet La Petite Écurie, three oboes, bassoon and percussion, will bring great Baroque music to the top, including in the lineup, among others, Purcell, Handel is Vivaldi. The 21 September the historian will climb the Roda di Vaèl refuge Quartet of the Ladder, born in 1953 and re-founded in 2001 by four young first parts of the Theater Orchestra. With a staff that has gradually changed, over the decades the Quartet has been the protagonist of important musical events and recordings. On this occasion, Francesco Manara and Daniele Pascoletti, violins, Simonide Braconi, viola and Massimo Polidori, cello will play in the program Schubert, Quartettsatz in C min D 703, Beethoven, Quartet op 18 n 4, is Paraphrase from Rigoletto of greens. Malov will rise to high altitudes with the latter to perform pieces by Bach, in an unprecedented approach to the melodies of the Irish folk tradition. Musical theater Two appointments dedicated to Musical theater at high altitude: the September 6 in Val di Fassa, in Malga Canvere above Bellamonte in the Viezzena – Bocche Group, a stage of green meadows will welcome the fairy tale in music 'Polymer, a plastic puppet': written by Job brood and played by Gene Gnocchi, the text is accompanied by the original music by Stephen Nanni, who will also conduct the strings and percussions of theMaderna Orchestra; with them, the solo viola of Danilo Rossi. The ecological fable revisits the tale of Pinocchio in a modern key, to tell the story of the emergency of plastic and the pollution of the planet. Instead, it is a journey-concert with a high comic potential that will be staged on September 30th, at the Viviani – Pradalago refuge above Madonna di Campiglio. The ingredients are all there: let's take the elements of an orchestra (theWind, voice and percussion ensemble of the FA Bonporti Conservatory of Trento and Riva del Garda directed by the Maestro Francesco Fontolan), a narrator who lets himself be carried away by the imagination, let's add the four acrobatic soloists of the Band Osiris and let's immerse them all, performers and audience, in nature. And so the musical tale "Peter and the Wolf" by Sergei Prokofiev under the distorting lens of the Osiris Band (Peter! And the wolf?), becomes the pretext for a foray into the world of musical fantasy where Prokofiev's melodies intertwine with those of other famous composers, from Mozart to Bizet, and derailed into different genres, from the soundtracks of Walt Disney to the village people. Jazz the 25 August to the Bombasel lakes in the Lagorai group, Sounds of the Dolomites celebrates the great comeback of the American trumpeter Dave Douglas, one of the greatest exponents of contemporary jazz.
