L’ascolto di musica classica è una delle attività più piacevoli e gratificanti che si possano fare per rilassarsi e liberare la mente. Ogni brano è come una finestra aperta su un mondo di emozioni e sensazioni, e può essere un modo per esplorare parti di noi stessi che spesso rimangono nascoste. The music of Ludovico Einaudi, especially "Primavera" from his 2004 album "Divenire", is among my favorites. His gentle music has the power to transport you to another world and make you dream lightly.
The “Gymnopédie No.1” by Erik Satie, with its amazing melodic simplicity and perfect slow feel, was included in the list because it is almost impossible to listen to it and not feel relaxed.
The “Spiegel im Spiegel” by Arvo Pärt is another piece that enchants and hypnotizes by its simplicity, with a piano arpeggio that merges with a cello melodic line, creating a feeling of infinity.
Peer Gynt, op. 46. First suite from incidental music op. 23 of Edvard Grieg. This composition is a perfect example of how music can evoke images and sensations. The melody is warm and bright, with a touch of melancholy. It transports the listener to an imaginary landscape of a Sunrise in the Moroccan desert. The feeling of tranquility and freshness is reflected in the music, which is perfect for starting the day.
Bach – Air on the G String: This perfectly balanced piece comes from Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major by Bach. It features one of the Baroque composer's most beautiful melodies over a pulsating, slow accompaniment. As in all of Bach's music, each line of the music can be heard as a melody in its own right.
Phamie Gow – War Song: Scottish composer, pianist, harpist and singer Phamie Gow has left a lasting impression with her classical-Celtic sound. The soft, melodic, flowing nature of his "War Song" for piano solo, from the 2013 album Softly Spoken, is perfect for a quiet evening.
Coleridge-Taylor – “Children's Intermezzo” from Othello: Based on Shakespeare's play of the same name, English composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor's Othello Suite comprises five movements, the second of which is the enchanting “Children's Intermezzo”. Clarinets drive the melody, while an accompaniment of plucked strings unravels beneath them, forming a soothing and constant texture to that gorgeous, expansive melody.
Debussy – Clair de lune: This beautiful piece from Debussy's Suite Bergamasque is his description of moonlight. The French impressionist composer was a master of piano colour, sweet melody and subtlety. There's also a wonderful hint of jazzy harmony. It's perfect for relaxing.
Tchaikovsky – Swan Lake: This is a very popular classical ballet, with enchanting and romantic music. The main theme of "Swan Lake" is well known and its beauty and sophistication make it one of Tchaikovsky's most famous works.
Brahms – Wiegenlied (Lullaby). This is definitely the most famous lullaby in the world and you can't help but sing "Lullaby my ben, rest seren". Here is one of the greatest cellists in the world playing it for you…
