In Parma 'The Concerts of the House of Music' - XIX edition "Sins of old age"
Six appointments with the extreme masterpieces of Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, Brahms, Scriabin, Rossini
In Parma the XIX edition of the Concerts of the House of Music. "Sins of old age”The title of the 2021 billboard, which includes six events from 27 September to 15 November 2021 and offers the extreme masterpieces of Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, Brahms, Skrjabin and Rossini.

Organized by Parma Concert Society, one of the oldest in Italy (the foundation dates back to 1894), the exhibition in the title pays homage to Gioachino Rossini and his famous  Péchés de vieillesse. Hence the starting point for building an original listening path through the latest dizzying masterpieces of six great composers, from Bach to Skrjabin - music that overlooks the abyss, full of poignant nostalgia or enigmatic omens, and which distill in the most the great compositional magisterium of their authors is pure and essential.

The pianists are the protagonists Mariangela Vacatello, Marco Scolastra is Philip Gorini, the Adorno Quartet, the duo Corrado Giuffredi is Federico Nicoletta, the Rigamonti Trio.

It starts on September 27 with the pianist Filippo Gorini, winner of the Telekom Beethoven Preis in Bonn and of the Borletti Buitoni Trust Award. Gorini will try his hand at the vertiginous counterpoints ofArt of escape by Johann Sebastian Bach: immortal unfinished work in which the young virtuoso has decided to immerse himself during the silence due to the pandemic.

The second appointment, theOctober 11th, will have as protagonist Marco Schoolgirl, established pianist on the international scene, refined interpreter in particular of the twentieth-century and contemporary repertoire. One will play selection of the Péchés de Vieillesse, private pages, not intended for publication, in which Gioacchino Rossini he poured out all his humor and his disenchanted gaze on the world, as well as his unmistakable musical genius.

The October 18 is on stage Adorno Quartet (Edoardo Zosi, violin, Liù Pellicciari, violin, Benedetta Bucci, Viola, Stefano Cerrato, cello). Launched by the Borciani Competition, the ensemble will perform i Quartets for strings by Ludwig van Beethoven n. 15 op. 132 and n. 13 op. 130. The original version of the latter will be proposed with the Great Fugue, a piece with controversial critical reception, today considered among the greatest masterpieces of the master from Bonn. Characterized by its extreme technical difficulty and its enigmatic and introspective quality, Stravinsky defined it as “contemporary music that will remain contemporary forever”.

The October 25 the clarinetist Corrado Giuffredi, one of the most popular soloist and chamber musicians, will share the stage with the pianist Federico Nicoletta, young but already acclaimed interpreter. They will perform music by Johannes Brahms, in which the tendency to introspection merges with the love for popular songs: le Sonatas op. 120 n. 1 and 2 for clarinet and piano ei Klavierstücke (Four pieces for piano) op. 119.

L'November 8 the winner of the Open Call for Chamber Music 2020, conceived by the Società dei Concerti di Parma in the first lockdown linked to Covid, will be on stage. The online competition was giving away a live concert and the winner was the Rigamonti Trio. Formed by the three brothers from Como Miriam, piano, Mariella, violin, Emanuele, cello, the close-knit ensemble will perform the Trios op. 148 D897 “Notturno” and op. 100 D 929 by Franz Schubert.

Grand finale the November 15 with the pianist Mariangela Vacatello, Italian concert star, regularly invited to theaters such as La Scala in Milan, Wigmore Hall in London or Disney Hall in Los Angeles. The program that will approach the famous one is particularly original Sonata No. 3 op. 58 by Frédéric Chopin to three visionary pieces by Alexander Skrjabin: the "Insect Sonata"N. 10 op. 70, Vers la flamme op. 72 and the Two dances op.73.

All concerts take place on Mondays at 20.30.
