“ 42nd Concert Season – 2024 ”
It's set for Monday February 26, 2024 (8pm) on debut at La Scala of the National Symphony Orchestra of Washington, one of the most famous and important orchestras in the United States: the baton of Gianandrea Noseda, musical director of the team since 2017.

The concert, included in 2024 season of the Filarmonica della Scala, will be the only Italian stage of the tour European National Symphony, the twelfth in its 93-year history, but the first since 2016 after the cancellation of the one in Asia due to the pandemic and the first undertaken under the guidance of the Milanese master. The tour will hit from February 16th to 28th Spain, Germany is Italy, with the violin star Hilary Hahn and the pianist Seong-Jin Cho who will alternate alongside the orchestra in the ten concerts scheduled in nine cities, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Madrid, Berlin, Nuremberg, Frankfurt, Cologne, Hamburg and Milan.

“Returning to my city with my orchestra fills me with pride and trepidation,” says Noseda, who will conduct a performance at La Scala sealed by the three recent sold-outs at the Kennedy Center: the evening opens with the first Italian performance of  Wake Up!, Concerto for orchestra commissioned to the 'composer-in-residence' Carlos Simon; follows the Piano Concerto No. 4 op. 58 of Ludwig van Beethoven, the talented South Korean pianist is a soloist SeongJin Cho, winner of the 2015 Chopin Prize; the program will conclude there Symphony no. 5 op. 47 of Shostakovich.
