Francesco Ivan Ciampa has directed and is regularly invited to conduct at the most important theaters in the world. At the helm of major Italian and international productions, he supports the biggest names in world opera.

Born in Avellino in 1982, graduated in orchestra conducting, composition and band instrumentation at the "Santa Cecilia" Conservatory of Music in Rome, Francesco Ivan Ciampa he then specialized in the most important national and international academies and schools under the authoritative guidance of masters such as Carlo Maria Giulini and Bruno Aprea.
He collaborated as Assistant of Maestro Antonio Pappano and Maestro Daniel Oren.
He has received numerous awards and recognitions including the first National Award for the Arts in the 2010/2011 edition and the absolute first prize of the 1st National Competition for Orchestra Conducting announced by the MIUR
Francesco Ivan Ciampa has directed and is regularly invited to conduct at the most important theaters in the world such as Covent Garden - Royal Opera House in London, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Arena di Verona, Staatsoper in Hamburg, Teatro di San Carlo , Teatro Regio of Parma, Teatro alla Fenice of Venice, Teatro Regio of Turin and Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and many others.
Among the many orchestras conducted, we mention the Münchner Philharmoniker, the Orchestra of the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Orchestra of the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, the Orchestra of the Teatro La Fenice, the Orchestra of the Teatro Regio of Turin, the Orchestra of the Teatro Massimo of Palermo, the “A.Toscanini” Philharmonic Orchestra of Parma, the Italian Youth Orchestra, the Bastille Opera Orchestra of Paris, the Deutsche Oper Berlin Orchestra, the Valencia Symphony Orchestra, Barcelona Symphony Orchestra.
At the helm of major Italian and international productions, such as La Traviata at the Opera Bastille with the relative publication of the DVD by Warner home video in 2014, Nabucco at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, L'Elisir d'Amore at the Colon in Buenos Aires, La Traviata at the Fenice in Venice and at the Regio in Turin and again Rigoletto and Madama Butterfly in Ancona, Attila in Bilbao, Turandot and Aida in the Verona Arena and Nabucco in Tel Aviv. Undisputed protagonist in recent years of the Italian Festivals dedicated to Puccini in Torre del Lago with Turandot and Madama Butterfly, and Verdi in Parma with Il Corsaro, I Masnadieri and Nabucco.
He regularly accompanies the biggest names in international opera: Leo Nucci with the acclaimed productions of Macbeth and Simon Boccanegra in Piacenza; Diana Damrau in Paris, Barcelona, Genoa and Monaco.
More recently he has conducted La Wally in Modena, Piacenza and Ravenna and Norma in Verona as well as La traviata at the Massimo in Palermo, in Salerno, Venice and Tokyo on tour with the Massimo in Palermo, Rigoletto in Genoa and Parma, Manon Lescaut and La bohème in Verona, The Barber of Seville in Las Palmas and Venice, Carmen, Turandot and Aida at the Verona Arena, Maria Stuarda in Berlin, Nabucco and Norma at the San Carlo in Naples and at the Regio in Parma, inaugurated the 2018 season dell'Arena di Verona with Carmen, and Aida in 2019. He then directed Jerusalem in Bilbao, La traviata in London Covent Garden and Il Trovatore in Munich Bayerische Staastoper, Un ballo in maschera in Seville.
Among the summer 2022 engagements, Cavalleria rusticana in Turin, a series of concerts in Japan and Korea with Plácido Domingo, La traviata in Naples, Turandot at the Verona Arena, followed by Il Trovatore in Venice, Madama Butterfly in Salerno. Turandot in Hamburg, La traviata in Zurich.
2023 sees Francesco Ivan Ciampa engaged, among other things, with Fedora at the Opera de Las Palmas, Adriana Lecouvreur at the Regio di Parma, La traviata at the Bayerische Staastoper in Munich, Il Trovatore in Bilbao.
