The The Society of Concerts Foundation born in 1983 to Milan, founded by Antonio Mormone, Neapolitan entrepreneur but Milanese by adoption. Mormone, also an exceptional talent-scout, decides to put his entrepreneurial skills at the service of culture and starts the business by organizing a first season of 16 concerts at the Sala Verdi of the Milan Conservatory, which immediately sells out.

Since then the Foundation has organized more than 2500 concerts for a loyal audience of about 60,000 visitors per year; they performed over 500 European orchestras and thousands of renowned soloists, including many young people under 35. Historical and unforgettable was the concert organized for the Italians in 1986 at the Festspielhaus in Bregenz starring the legendary pianist Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli.

Since then the greatest artists of the world scene have alternated on the stage, including Maurizio Pollini, Grigory Sokolov, Maxim Vengerov, Salvatore Accardo, Nikita Magaloff, Radu Lupu, Paul Tortelier, Lang Lang, Mstislav Rostropovich.

Great symphony orchestras and famous soloists perform every year, often exclusively in Milan, but great attention has always been dedicated to the enhancement of young musicians of excellence.

The Società dei Concerti has launched in Italy artists who are today stars of the international concert scene: da Evgeny Kissin to Beatrice Rana, Fazil Say is Maxim Vengerov, Daniele Gatti, Valentina Lisitsa, Stefan Milenkovic, Anna Tifu is Vilde Frang.

The Foundation operates in the deep conviction that the great musical tradition is a formidable tool for expressing and protecting the highest values of the human soul and creative intelligence. This is why it intends to make it a shared good and within the reach of an ever wider audience. The entire activity of the Fondazione La Società dei Concerti di Milano relies heavily on a solid strategy of use for its spectators by offering accessible subscriptions and flexible proposals in the heart of the city to give the Milanese public the opportunity to listen, often exclusively, to the great soloists, the most prestigious orchestras and new talents.

The Foundation is a non-profit organization recognized by the Lombardy Region and considered to be of regional significance. It also enjoys the Patronage of the Municipality of Milan and it's supported by the MIC, the Lombardy Region and the Municipality of Milan.
