Tenth edition this year for the renewed Bellagio and Lake Como Festival, which is part of the Lac Sublime project, a network of summer festivals on the Lario. The new art and music project of Lake Como associates, in addition to the Bellagio festival, the Casta Diva di Blevio Festival at its debut, the events 'Music and Beauty' on Lake Como, 'Albe e Tramonti in Musica' on Lake Como. Lecco, and the special initiative 'Dante a Como 2021'. Scenographic fifth of the various initiatives, the many and various banks of the Lario and its art villages, on the banks, as in the mountains.
The Bellagio Festival opens on June 24 with San Giovanni, a traditional early summer festival, giving the A to the initiatives of Lac Sublime that will continue until October, while the Bellagio festival will end on July 30.The X Edition of the Festival, under the artistic direction of Rossella Spinosa, is a tribute to Italy, which has been the favorite half of the Grand Tour for centuries, and to Italian music, emblem and ambassador of the culture of the Bel Paese in the world. In the sign of a modern journey to Italy, it also looks to the international public, which in Lake Como has always had a 'classic' topical place and a favorite destination.
The 2021 program will be entirely dedicated to Italian composers, from the Renaissance to the present day. A path that ranges between different genres, in the common denominator of Italy celebrated in music: madrigal masterpieces and Baroque opera, virtuosity of instrumental music and great masters of romantic melodrama, Neapolitan popular music and Oscar-winning soundtracks. Fundamental element, the conjunction between the relevance of music and the beauty of the places (historic houses, courtyards, basilicas and churches, museums, traditional hotels), which enhance each other.
There are 14 concerts on the bill, distributed among the different locations of Bellagio, and in Lezzeno, Lecco, Mandello, Menaggio, Zelbio and Varenna.
It starts on June 24 with 'Italian flair', a program entirely dedicated to Vivaldi and Paganini, starring the Bellagio Festival Orchestra, Roberto Noferini's violin and Donato D'Antonio's guitar. (Bellagio, Royal Hall of the Grand Hotel of Villa Serbelloni at 9 pm).
To follow, the July 3 (9 pm) appointment in the Church of SS. Quirico and Giulietta in Lezzeno for the Glory of Vivaldi, conducts the Bellagio Festival Orchestra Alessandro Calcagnile, soloists Annamaria Calciolari soprano, Jae Hee Kim mezzo-soprano, Luciano Grassi tenor, Davide Rocca baritone.
Among other events, two evenings dedicated to opera, with the Festival Orchestra directed by Alessandro Calcagnile:
on July 14 (9 pm), 'Soirée chez Rossini'at the Villa Lario in Mandello, with Lina Lee, soprano, Jae Hee Kim mezzo-soprano, Antonio Signorello tenor, Lee Ju Young baritone, scheduled pieces from the Barber of Seville;
July 15 (9 pm) at the Royal Hall of the Hotel Villa Serbelloni, Grand Gala of the Buff Operaa: soprano Ilaria Torciani and baritone Davide Rocca present arias, recitatives and duets taken from the buffi interludes by Pergolesi, Hasse, Alessandro Scarlatti.
We still report the July 17 in Bellagio, 9 pm, "Tribute to Enrico Caruso ", with a program of Neapolitan songs, the July 18 in Zelbio, le Four Seasons by Vivaldi. An appointment not to be missed on 23 July (9 pm) at the Basilica San Giacomo in Bellagio, on Cine-concert "Frate Sole", screening of Mario Corsi's silent film of 1918, with music by Rossella Spinosa (elaborated from the original score by Luigi Mancinelli) performed live.
Closing concert on July 30 (9 pm) at the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio: Tribute to Ennio Morricone. The Bellagio Festival Orchestra conducted by Alessandro Calcagnile with soprano Paola Matarrese will present music from Morricone's most famous soundtracks, from "Once upon a time in the West" to "The legend of the pianist on the ocean", from "Per un fugno di dollars ”to“ Nuovo Cinema Paradiso ”.
