Federica Lombardi is among the most sought-after sopranos of the young generation, especially for the great Mozartian roles; the excellent interpretations she gave on the major Italian stages earned her the Abbiati Award from the Italian Music Critics Association in 2019 as best singer.

Federica Lombardi, soprano, is one of the most requested artists of the young generation, above all for the great Mozartian roles.
 
His projects include La Bohème in Valencia in 2022, New Year's Concert at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, a ballet production of Verdi's Requiem Mass at the Amsterdam Opera in 2023, Le Nozze di Figaro with the State Opera of Vienna in Monte Carlo, Don Giovanni in New York and at the Salzburg Festival, La Clemenza di Tito in Vienna, La Bohème in New York, Anna Bolena at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, in 2024 Don Giovanni, Le Nozze di Figaro, Cosi fan all Simon Boccanegra in Vienna, Le Nozze di Figaro in Chicago …
 
In 2022 she made her debut at the Royal Opera House Convent Garden as Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro conducted by Antonio Pappano and performed the same part at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, where she was also heard as Electra in Idomeneo. She recently enjoyed great success debuting the role of Amelia Grimaldi in Verdi's Simon Boccanegra at the Liège Opera.
 
In 2021 she made her debut at the Teatro Real in Madrid as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni. At the Vienna State Opera she played Contessa in a streaming of Le Nozze di Figaro, at the Salzburg Festival she made her debut as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni conducted by Teodor Currentzis. At the Berlin Staatsoper she played both Contessa and Fiordiligi in a new production of Così fan tutte, both conducted by Daniel Barenboim. At the Metropolitan Opera in New York she played Musetta in La bohème.
 
In autumn 2020 she reprized Donna Anna in Stuttgart and the role of Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte in Valencia at short notice; in July he sang one of the first concerts after the lockdown at the Teatro alla Scala, in which he performed arias and duets with Francesco Meli.
 
In 2019 she made her role debut as Elettra in a new production of Idomeneo conducted by Diego Fasolis at La Scala in Milan and made her debut as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni on tour with Teodor Currentzis in Vienna and Lucerne, at the Hamburg State Opera at the Vienna State Opera and with the Vienna State Opera in Geneva.
 
Past seasons have seen her debut as Donna Elvira at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte in Rome, Turin and Munich.
 
At the Cologne Opera and in Bologna she sang Donna Anna, while with the Teatro San Carlo in Naples she sang Michaela in Carmen in Bangkok conducted by Zubin Mehta.
 
The international press praised her interpretations of Contessa in Rome – in an innovative and modern staging by Graham Vick – and also at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich in the new production by Christof Loy.
 
In spring 2017 she made her very successful debut in the title role in Donizetti's Anna Bolena at La Scala in Milan, conducted by Ion Marin and returned to La Scala in the same season as Musetta in Franco Zeffirelli's famous production of La bohème.
 
She sang her first Mimì for a film of La Bohème shot in Rome in 2022. Her recording of Desdemona in Othello for Sony with Jonas Kaufmann and Antonio Pappano conducted was released in March 2020.
 
Also in great demand as a concert performer, she recently sang Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in Naples, Bangkok and Astana with Zubin Mehta, Mozart's Requiem with the Scala Philharmonic Orchestra again with Zubin Mehta. With the Tucson Symphony Orchestra he performed a Rossini program.
 
Federica Lombardi studied at the Angelo Massini Liceo Musicale in Forlì. In 2015/16 he was part of the Academy of Specialization for Opera Singers of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and participated in the prestigious program for young singers of the Salzburg Festival in 2015.
 
She is two-time winner of the AsLiCo competition in Como, as well as winner of the Francisco Viñas competition in Barcelona and the Ottavio Zino competition in Rome.
 
In 2019 he received the Franco Abbiati Award from the Association of Italian Music Critics as best singer for his excellent interpretations of Mozart roles on the major Italian stages.
