"Extraordinary concert"
He will be in Bologna after 10 years Evgeny Kissin, protagonist the November 5, 2022 (8.30 pm) atAuditorium Manzoni of a extraordinary concert promoted by the three major Bolognese musical institutions, Bologna Festival, Music Together Foundation is Municipal Theater of Bologna, who join forces for the first time on this special occasion.

“I'm happy to be back playing in Bologna, one of my favorite cities in the world. After ten years I can't wait to perform again for the Bolognese audience, with whom I have had a special relationship for many years ", says Kissin, former enfant prodige of Ukrainian-Belarusian origins, born in Moscow in 1971 and pianist among the most acclaimed on the international scene. Winner of two Grammy Awards in 2006 and 2010, Evgeny Kissin has prestigious collaborations such as those with the Berliner Philharmoniker and Herbert von Karajan, with the London Symphony Orchestra and Valery Gergiev and with the New York Philharmonic and Zubin Mehta.

The pianist, who was supposed to perform in the Emilian capital in September 2020 in a concert later canceled by the pandemic, has been beloved in the city since the first Bolognese concert in 1994 which ended with sixteen encores, only stopped by the fire brigade.

The new occasion sees Kissin for the first time together with theMunicipal Theater Orchestra, with a schedule change compared to the announced Concerto n. 3 in D minor by Sergej Rachmaninov: due to a muscle-tendon problem, the pianist will perform the Concert n. 23 KV 488 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, “Putting his sensitivity as an interpreter and his talent at the service of a piece that is placed in the firmament of compositions for piano and orchestra”.

The Romanian will be on the podium Radu Paponiu debut in Italy. Associate Director of the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra, Permanent Director of the Naples Youth Philharmonic and of the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, to complete the evening will propose the Symphony n. 8 in G major op. 88 of Antonín Dvořák.
