Daniele Rustioni artistic director of the Orchestra della Toscana
At the Teatro Verdi in Florence the presentation of the new artistic director of the Orchestra della Toscana. This is Daniele Rustioni who was the principal guest director of this institution and then principal director until last May.
Having spent the last nine years with the ORT, first as principal guest conductor and then as principal conductor, Daniele Rustioni will guide the future artistic choices of the Orchestra della Toscana. At just 37 years old he is the youngest artistic director of an ICO (Orchestral Concert Institution) ever. The appointment of Rustioni guarantees continuity with the forty-year history of this institution, but aims to create a totally new project in the Italian panorama, with a completely renewed team and artistic management methods.
To underline the solid and fruitful relationship with the Orchestra of Tuscany, the Board of Directors also conferred on Maestro Rustioni the title of graduate conductor which had already been evaluated in June by the body that leads the Foundation as the final act of the long work carried out together, but not yet ratified. All the members of the council intend to express gratitude to Maestro Nazzareno Carusi for the excellent work he has done in recent months as a delegated advisor to the artistic direction.

Maestro Rustioni will present in detail the characteristics of his conducting on Tuesday 29 September at 11.30 at the Verdi Theater, a few hours before the inauguration of the ORT season which he himself directed.
