"Bologna Festival 2022 - Great Performers"
Daniel Harding and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra guests return to Bologna Festival: with the violinist Alina Ibragimova they will be protagonists in the penultimate concert of the review Great Interpreters, scheduled for Tuesday May 31 (20.30) to Manzoni Theater.

This is the only Italian date for Alina Ibragimova, one of the most requested violinists in theaters throughout Europe, who will be involved in the Violin Concerto Op. 64 of Mendelssohn, one of the most famous and loved masterpieces of the entire violin literature. An already fully romantic piece, the Concerto stands out for its fascinating melodic invention and the brilliant relief of the solo part.

The program is completed byEgmont Ouverture of Beethoven, performed at the opening of the concert, and the Seventh Symphony of Dvořák which will close the evening.

Alina Ibragimova, a thirty-six year old Russian violinist, British by adoption, is known for her versatility, and is particularly appreciated for the naturalness, temperament and precision with which she deals with the most diverse techniques and styles. She has performed in major European musical institutions in recitals and with orchestras such as the London Philharmonic, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

Alina Ibragimova collaborates for the first time this season with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, one of the many orchestral creatures born from the imagination and will of Claudio Abbado. Founded in 1997, MCO has found strong creative stimuli in its collaboration with Daniel Harding, one of the major conductors of today's international music scene. Former musical director of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, with which he has been several times at the Bologna Festival, Daniel Harding regularly collaborates with the most renowned European symphonic ensembles and has conducted opera productions at La Scala, Covent Garden, the Vienna Opera, Salzburg Festival and Aix-en-Provence Festival.
