Riccardo Muti returns to Sant'Agata di Militello on September 12th.
It was held on 12 September '26

The Beethoven's Ninth Symphony Performed by the Milan Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, this year's concert is a well-established event in the city's musical calendar. A secular ritual that, with almost ceremonial regularity, brings together audiences and performers around one of the most emblematic pieces of the symphonic-choral repertoire.
For the second consecutive year he returns to the podium Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, Music Director of the Milanese institution, leading its orchestra and choir. The choice of the Ninth Symphony reflects not only a performance tradition, but the symbolic value that opera continues to exert: a moment of collective recognition, in which music takes on a function that goes beyond listening, becoming a shared gesture.
It is no coincidence that before the concert an introductory conference is scheduled, entrusted to Fabio Sartorelli, dedicated to the historical and cultural significance of the Ninth Symphony and its ideal of universality. An opportunity to contextualize a work that, more than any other, continues to question the relationship between music, community, and the vision of humanity.
