June 18 - Classic at Sunset - Opening concert
The fourth edition of the review promoted by the IUC is inaugurated in the magnificent setting of the Botanical Garden

"Classic at Sunset"
With a double concert by the pianist Giorgia Tomassi and the violinist Gabriel Pieranunzi, flanked by a small group of arches, the exhibition opens Classical al Sunset, which will continue until July 27 with a full calendar of events. At 8.30 pm, music by Schumann and Rachmaninov is scheduled, in the second concert at 9.30 pm, pieces by Schumann and Mendelssohn. *** One of the most representative Italian violinists of his generation, Gabriel Pieranunzi he soon gained the attention of the music scene with success in some of the main international competitions, including: Paganini Award (Genoa 1988 and 1990) Tibor Varga (Zion),  Ludwig Spohr (Freiburg). Invited several times by the Municipality of Genoa to play the famous Guarneri del Gesù  The Cannon belonged to Niccolò Paganini, he is a regular guest of the most important Italian concert institutions and foreign institutions. Several CDs have recently been published: the Concerto Op. 12 by Kurt Weill under the direction of Jeffrey Tate and the Winds of the San Carlo Theater in Naples (Concerto Classics), the Mendelssohn Quartets for piano and strings (Decca - Universal) and the Concerto op . 21 by Chausson for violin, piano and string quartet (with the pianist Jin Ju and the Philarmonia Chamber Players (Aulicus Classics). *** The pianist Giorgia Tomassi revealed herself on the international scene by winning the Arthur Rubinstein competition in Tel Aviv in 1992. She has performed in prestigious Italian and international halls, and has been a partner of famous musicians such as Martha Argerich, Salvatore Accardo, Roberto Cominati, Ensemble Wien - Berlin and many others. For Emi he recorded the Education by Chopin ei  Concerts for piano and orchestra by Nino Rota with the Filarmonica della Scala conducted by Riccardo Muti. Since 2010 he has embarked on a lasting artistic partnership with pianists Carlo Maria Griguoli and Alessandro Stella in a piano trio formation, The Pianos Trio, participating in all editions of the Martha Argerich project and attending the seasons of the most important concert institutions in Italy and around the world. 'abroad. He regularly plays in duo with the violinist Gabriele Pieranunzi.
