Classica al Tramonto 2024, the IUC summer festival returns to the Botanical Garden of Rome
In the green treasure chest of Trastevere the seventh edition of the event, with 14 evenings on the bill offering over twenty events

He returns to Rome Classic at Sunset, the summer music festival proposed by IUC – University Institution of Concerts in one of the most fascinating green spaces of the City, l'Botanical Garden located in the heart of Trastevere, in the ancient park of Villa Corsini, former residence of Christina of Sweden.

The seventh edition of Classic at Sunset It will take place from 11 June to 25 July 2024, divided into 14 evenings and over twenty events, proposed both as single concerts and in the consolidated double concert formula, at 8.30pm and 9.30pm.

The event kicks off on Tuesday June 11th (9pm) with the Gianni Oddi Quartet, engaged in a tribute to the four great composers who founded the legendary Ortophonic recording studios in 1970: Bacalov, Morricone, Piccione and Trovajoli.

There is also no shortage of masterpieces of chamber music, including Mozart, Brahms, Schumann, Haydn, or significant forays into twentieth-century music. Among the artists of the exhibition, the director Enrico Saverio Pagano is the Canova Chamber Orchestra, artists in residence of the IUC, who propose an evening between Mozart and Bach, the unmistakable voice of Sarah Jane Morris with i Solis String Quartet with All you need is love! Homage to the Beatles, the cellist Erica Piccotti and the pianist Leonardo Pierdomenico for a program between Chopin and Castelnuovo Tedesco, theSoul and Body Ensemble with a refined program between Scarlatti and Händel. Numerous events dedicated to the piano: Arturo Stalteri plays Dodecagon by Philip Glass, Alessandro Simoni interprets Schumann and Listz, Flying Virgil moves between Ellington and Gershwin, Luca Bianchi proposes an unprecedented program that compares Mompou to Casella, Busoni to Chopin.

Space to Leonardo Taio with Sofia Adinolfi for Brahms and Shostakovich, to the very young artists of Rilke Quartet for an evening between Haydn and Schumann, to the harp's dialogue with nature on a journey with Brian Meloni Lebanon, up to Homes, a project by Vittorio Esposito Quartet, winner of the 2023 Lelio Luttazzi Prize.

Double date with Misa in Buenos Aires “Misatango” of Martin Palmeri with the Montello Choir, in collaboration with Chorus Inside Lazio is L'Xylon Orchestra directed by Paolo Matteucci, space for two unique evenings with the MuSa Jazz Orchestra directed by Roberto Spadoni with the tribute to Duke Ellington and theEtnoMuSa Orchestra from Francesco Berrafato with a program of traditional songs that recounts the struggles of women. Four concerts with the young musicians of Avos Project – International School of Music, the Alfieri Quartet, the Duo Althea, the Amal Trio and the piano duo Bravi/Scapicchi, which renew the collaboration with the prestigious international music school.
