Lepore

World-renowned bass, Carlo Lepore boasts a vast repertoire with which he has performed on the most prestigious international stages.

Among the numerous roles performed, those by Rossini and Mozart stand out, Donizetti's characters (in particular Dulcamara and Don Pasquale), and various Baroque works.

Born in Naples, Carlo Lepore lives in Rome, where he studied singing with Alessandra Gonzaga and graduated in Law. He subsequently specialized with Paolo Montarsolo, Otto Edelman, Carlo Bergonzi, Alberto Zedda …
 
He played the roles of Mustafà in L'italiana in Algiers, Selim in The Turk in Italy, Basilio and Bartolo in The Barber of Seville, Don Magnifico in La Cenerentola, Pharaoh in Moses, Don Profondo in The Journey to Reims, Ginardo in Matilde di Shabran, Leporello in Don Giovanni, Don Alfonso in Cosi fan tutte, Bartolo in Le Nozze di Figaro, Blansac in La Scala di seta, performing on major international stages (La Scala in Milan, La Fenice in Venice, the Teatro Regio in Turin, the Rome Opera, the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, the Semperoper in Dresden, the Cologne Opera, the Opéra Royal de Wallonie, the Vlaamse Opera, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Royal Opera House in London, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Monte-Carlo, Zurich…).
 
Guest several times at the Rossini Opera Festival, Carlo Lepore has interpreted the roles of Capellio in Bianca and Falliero, Hieros in Le Siège de Corinthe, Mustafà in Adina, Elpino in the Vero Omaggio Ginardo in Matilde di Shabran directed by Mario Martone, Blansac in La Scala di Seta conducted by C. Scimone, Gaudenzio in Signor Bruschino, Astarotte Idraote in Armida directed by Ronconi and Tarabotto in Happy Deception (G. Vick).
 
His repertoire includes roles such as Colline (La Bohème), Rodolfo (La sonnambula), Dulcamara (L'Elisir d'amore), Seneca (L'incoronazione di Poppea), and numerous Baroque operas.
 
He sang Bartolo in The Barber of Seville for his debut at the Paris Opera and the Montreal Opera, as well as at the Arena di Verona, Opéra national du Rhin, Opéra national de Bordeaux, Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, and the title role in Falstaff in Parma, at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari and in Turin, the title role in Gianni Schichhi in Turin and at the Paris Opera, Le Nozze di Figaro at the Royal Opera House in London, at Glyndebourne Festival, at the Opéra national de Bordeaux and at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, La Cenerentola in Rome, L'italiana in Algeri (Mustafà) and Manon Lescaut (Geronte di Ravoir) at La Scala, Don Pasquale at the Verona Arena and at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow, Sir Tobia Mill (The Wedding Bill) at the Rossini Festival in Pesaro, Dr. Dulcamara (L'Elisir d'amore) at the Paris Opera.
 
Carlo Lepore was also involved in the filming of the film Io, Don Giovanni directed by Carlos Saura in the role of the Commendatore, and played Don Magnifico in the film by A. Anderman "Cinderella, a live fairy tale" directed by Carlo Verdone and the direction of Gianluigi Gelmetti, broadcast by Rai 1 and worldwide.
