Bologna Festival Onlus Presents

"Bologna Festival 2022 - The New The Ancient"
The review continues The New the Old of Bologna Festival: in the second appointment, Monday September 26, 2022 20.30 atOratory of San Filippo Neri, the pianist Maria Grazia Bellocchio presents a program built on music by Kurtág, Couperin, Shostakovich, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Janáček, Bach.

The concert cycle dedicated to ancient and contemporary music this year reserves one special attention to keyboard instruments, ancient and modern, traditional or prepared, electronic or toy. The three concerts proposed by the pianists Maria Grazia Bellocchio (September 26), Emanuele Arciuli (11 October) and the fortepianista Andreas Staier (October 20) explore repertoires across the board that intertwine several centuries of music, between past and present, ancient and modern.

To kick off this intriguing musical reconnaissance is Mara Grazia Bellocchio, renowned pianist and creator of innovative programs: her project Aphorisms revolves around one of the monumenta of the second half of the twentieth century, Játékok (Games) of György Kurtág: a living collection of album sheets, memoirs, transcriptions, dedications, improvisations. And just as if the Hungarian composer's "games" were a tree, the branches generated by its sap graft onto the main trunk: Couperin, Scarlatti, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, Bach ... precious miniatures in an infinite game of mirrors.
