Bologna Festival closes the review The New The Ancient with a precious appointment dedicated to the century of the violin, Thursday October 27, 2022 (8.30 pm) atOratory of San Filippo Neri, protagonists Enrico Onofri, one of the most popular violinist-conductors on the international scene, and his own Imaginarium Ensemble formed by Alessandro Palmeri, Simone Vallerotonda, Federica Bianchi.

Six hundred! is the title of the concert that follows a brilliant 'reasoned itinerary' through the territories of Solo violin sonata, outlining the physiognomy of this musical genre codified in the seventeenth century. The Sonata assumes a stable and modern form thanks to a new generation of violinists-composers: alongside the illustrious names of Biagio Marini, Marco Uccellini, Alessandro Stradella and of that Fontana said Giovanni Battista del Violin, the program features music by Kapsberger, Marini, De Selma y Salaverde, Virgiliano, Uccellini, Stradella, Montalbano, Mealli, Taegio.

Other information of interest

The violinist and conductor Enrico Onofri he is a profound connoisseur of ancient performance practices. He began his career as first violin of Jordi Savall's La Capella Real and then collaborated with various Baroque ensembles. He is musical director of the Montis Regalis Academy and principal conductor of the Toscanini Philharmonic of Parma, as well as principal guest conductor of the Haydn Philharmonie of Eisenstadt and associate director of the Orchester National d'Auvergne.

L'Imaginarium Ensemble, founded and directed by Enrico Onofri, it is mainly dedicated to the great Italian violin repertoire, from the early Baroque to the Age of Enlightenment. In 2006 their first CD, La voce nel violino, was released. Vivaldi followed. La Follia and Sonatas for violin; Devil's Trill with the virtuosic sonatas for violin composed by Tartini, Veracini, Mossi and Bonporti; the complete version of Corelli's violin sonatas; the album Into Nature - Vivaldi's Seasons & other sound from Mother Earth, receives the Diapason d'Or 2020. Recently released the CD Seicento!, also awarded with the Diapason d'Or.
