The Abbiati Awards of Italian music critics for the year 2022 have been assigned
The favorite of the Donizetti Opera Festival in Bergamo awarded as the best show of the year
The commission of the 42nd edition of the Music Critics Award "Franco Abbiati”, meeting on 19 April 2023 at the Milanese headquarters of the Amici del Loggione, decreed the winners by choosing from productions, concerts and initiatives held in Italian theatres, festivals and concert halls in 2022.

Chaired by Angelo FolettoThe commission consisted of directive of the National Association of Music Critics, Andrea Estero (president), Alessandro Cammarano, Carlo Fiore, Gianluigi Mattietti, Carla Moreni and Stefano Nardelli, and by seven critics elected by the members of the ANCM among its members, Paolo Petazzi, Roberta Pedrotti, Alessandro Rigolli, Patrizia Luppi, Giancarlo Landini, Gregorio Moppi and Susanna Franchi.

The reasons for the awards and details on awards ceremony, which will be held at Bergamo the June 10, 2023will be announced shortly.

The “Franco Abbiati"

The Italian Music Critics Award it is named after the Bergamo area Franco Abbiati, for forty years owner of the music column of Corriere della Sera. The Prize was established in 1981, with the patronage of the municipal administration of Bergamo and for the planning will of Filippo Siebaneck then president of the Autonomous Tourism Company.
