Born in Messina but Trieste by adoption, Antonino Siragusa is considered the Rossini interpreter par excellence

Born in Messina, he began his musical studies in his hometown at the Arcangelo Corelli Conservatory under the guidance of Antonio Bevacqua. After winning the absolute first prize at the Giuseppe di Stefano International Competition in Trapani, in 1996 he made his debut in the roles of Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni at the Teatro Politeama in Lecce and Nemorino in Elisir d'amore in Pistoia, with unanimous approval from of public and critics.

Since then he has embarked on an international career that has led him to some of the major stages in the world, including Teatro alla Scala, Metropolitan of New York, Wiener Staatsoper, Opéra National de Paris, Staatsoper and Deutsche Oper of Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper of Munich , Teatro Real in Madrid, Liceu in Barcelona, New National Theater in Tokyo, National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome, Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, collaborating with important conductors including Valerij Gergeev, Riccardo Muti, Daniel Oren, Daniele Gatti , Alberto Zedda, Renato Palumbo, Roberto Abbado, Bruno Campanella, Donato Renzetti, Yves Abel and Michele Mariotti.

A refined Rossini singer, Antonino Siragusa is the ideal interpreter of Conte d'Almaviva (The Barber of Seville) and in a short time he made it his role of choice, presenting it in some great theaters such as the Wiener Staatsoper, Staatsoper and Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Opéra National de Paris, Bayerische Staatsoper of Monaco, Hamburgische Staatsoper, De Nederlandse Opera of Amsterdam, New National Theater of Tokyo, NCPA of Beijing, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Lirico of Cagliari, Teatro Regio of Turin, Philharmonic Theater of Verona, Teatro Comunale of Bologna and Teatro Massimo of Palermo. Regular guest of the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, he took part in numerous productions, including Otello, Il viaggio a Reims, La scala di seta, La gazzetta, L'equivoco stravagante, Elisabetta, regina d'england, Ermione, Tancredi and Armida and in 2015 Ciro in Babilonia, in which he played Baldassare with great success with audiences and critics.

In recent years he has succesfully performed some Verdi titles such as Rigoletto (Duke of Mantua) at the Liceu de Barcelona, Falstaff (Fenton) at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa and at the Opéra de Nice, Un giorno di Regno (Edoardo) at the ABAO Bilbao and La traviata (Alfredo) at the Teatro della Fortuna in Fano.

Among the important productions in which he took part during his career we mention Armida at the Metropolitan in New York, Semiramide and L'elisir d'amore at the Teatro Real in Madrid, Guillaume Tell (Arnold) and La Cenerentola at the Opernhaus in Zurich, Zelmira at the Opéra de Lyon, La Sonnambula, Gianni Schicchi, La Cenerentola, Il barbiere di Siviglia and L'elisir d'amore at the Wiener Staatsoper, Elisabeth, Queen of England and I Puritani at the Monnaie in Brussels, Semiramide and La donna del lago at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Il barbiere di Siviglia and I Puritani at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, L'italiana in Algeri at the Staatsoper in Berlin, Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle at the Théatre des Champs-Elysées de Paris and with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Don Giovanni conducted by Riccardo Muti at the Teatro alla Scala, Oedipus Rex at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome.

Recent engagements include: Semiramide (Idreno) and bel canto recital at the Rossini Opera Festival; La Sonnambula at the Teatro Regio in Turin; Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Staatsoper in Hamburg, at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna and in Japan on tour with TCBO; L'Italiana in Algeri at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice; Le Comte Ory at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège; I puritani at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste and at the Liceu in Barcelona; The Elixir of Love in Pamplona; La Sonnambula (Elvino) at the NCPA in Beijing, in Lausanne and in Muscat; L'Italiana in Algeri (Lindoro) at the Théatre des Champs-Elysées in Paris and at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste; Don Pasquale (Ernesto) at the Wiener Staatsoper; Anna Bolena (Percy) at the Philharmonic Theater of Verona; Ermione (Oreste) at the San Carlo in Naples; Cinderella at the Wiener Staatsoper; Petite Messe Solennelle in Trieste; The Barber of Seville at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice; Lucrezia Borgia in Tenerife; Cinderella at the Teatro Comunale in Modena.
