Mozzarella-anchovy' is the title of the guest concert on Monday  August 21 (20.00) at Stresa Festival 2023: a sparkling musical foray into Naples at the end of the sixteenth century - beginning of the seventeenth century which sees the return of Vincenzo Capezzuto accompanied by the ensemble The arpeggio directed by Christina Pluhar.

The multifaceted artist from Salerno returns to the pearl of Lake Maggiore after last year's extraordinary success as Evangelist in Bach's Matthew Passion, bringing with it the essence of the Neapolitan tradition. Equipped with a unique voice of its kind, which escapes any classification due to its extraordinary timbre, extension and marked versatility in interpreting different musical genres, Capezzuto will give life to a concert that intertwines the vocal sonorities of the early Baroque with Neapolitan popular melodies .

With him on stage at the Stresa Festival Hall, The arpeggio, award-winning ensemble directed by Christina Pluhar who rediscovered the roots of the 'blues' of the time, taking up the music that enlivened the streets, the popular places and the celebrations of ancient Naples. The tarantellas, the pizzicarelles, the chaconne and the rhythms that were repeated continuously, always the same, become the vehicle for telling the life stories of the Naples of the time.

The concert will revive the atmosphere of the early seventeenth century, when all of Europe considered the Neapolitan city as the undisputed capital of music, place of origin of opera and commedia dell'arte. It is from those respected Neapolitan conservatories that great musicians, outstanding composers and celebrated castrati emerged.

The ensemble The arpeggio, founded in 2000 by Christina Pluhar, one of the most innovative musicians in the panorama of early music, is made up of extraordinary musicians specialized in the execution of 17th century music. Thanks to their collaborations with soloists from different musical traditions, the Arpeggiata has gained unanimous acclaim from audiences and critics around the world, offering unconventional and emotional performances.
