“ Christmas Concert in the Cathedral of Rome – XXXVIII Edition ”
One of the most exciting places to hear a Christmas concert, is undoubtedly the Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano, Rome Cathedral, full of art, history and spirituality, and mother of all churches, "Omnium Urbis et Orbis Ecclesiarum Mater et Caput".

Immersing yourself in the golden light of the mosaics and carved wooden ceilings, among statues and columns, marble and Cosmatesque floors offers a very vivid sensation, further enhanced by the music. A special occasion to enjoy this union is offered by the traditional "Christmas Concert in the Cathedral of Rome”, which has now reached the 38. edition, scheduled for Sunday December 18, 2022 at 20.30.

The event, directed by Archbishop Marco Frisina and organized by Nova Opera and Elevan, calls back every year over 2000 people from all over Italy and abroad, and is followed streamed from over 100k people connected from all over the world.

It will be the two hundred Choristers and the Soloists of the Choir of the Diocese of Rome and the more than fifty professors of theOrchestra "Fideles et Amati" to perform the most famous songs of the Italian and international Christmas tradition, directed by Archbishop Marco Frisina, who will introduce the different pieces on the program offering his reflections on the Mystery of Christmas.

As a tribute to those who will experience a trial Christmas again this year, the Concert will focus on theme of peace, to whom the piece is particularly dedicated Pacem in Terris, inspired by the last Encyclical of Saint John XXIII.

Admission to the Concert is free and free.

Entrance to the Basilica is allowed from 7 pm. The organizers recommend that you arrive early, so as to easily pass the security checks
