The new “Beniamino Gigli” Museum in Recanati
On the notes of the bel canto tenor Fabio Armiliato who sang "Non ti scordar di me" and "Mamma" and the young talented Samuele Lattanzi, accompanied on the piano by Maestro Riccardo Serenelli, the new Beniamino Gigli Museum was inaugurated at the Persiani Theater in Recanati.
The museum, through a chronological and thematic itinerary, explores the life and career of Beniamino Gigli (1890-1957), considered one of the greatest tenors of the twentieth century. It displays various memorabilia of the singer, including stage costumes, letters, photographs and documents, enriched by video and musical installations. Visitors have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the famous opera arias performed by Gigli, as well as view his film appearances.

The Gigli Museum, established in 1961 thanks to a donation from Gigli's family, in particular from his daughter Rina, was recently renovated with an investment of 550 thousand euros, intended for the elimination of architectural barriers and the improvement of accessibility, financed through PNRR and Foi funds.

Local authorities, including Mayor Antonio Bravi and Councilor for Culture Rita Soccio, emphasized the inclusive character of the museum and its cultural importance for tourists, citizens of Recanati, music enthusiasts and neophytes. Among the speakers present at the presentation of the museum, Aldo Grassini, president of the Omero Museum, the architect Luca Schiavoni and the musicologist Piero Mioli.

During the event, a commemorative plaque dedicated to Luigi Vincenzoni, Gigli's nephew, was also unveiled.
