Held from August 27th to September 7th '25

The 65th Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition will be held in 2024 and 2025, open to pianists born between January 1, 1994 and December 31, 2008, excluding previous winners. Applications are open until May 15, 2024, with a fee of €30, and for candidates selected for the Glocal Piano Project, an additional fee of €120. Prize winners in competitions affiliated with the World Federation of International Music Competitions may apply directly to the finals, with a maximum selection of three candidates.

The competition features a video selection phase to choose 100 participants, followed by the Glocal Piano Project, where competitors perform both live and online, selecting 26 pianists for the finals in Bolzano. These include multiple stages, with the final performance scheduled for September 7, 2025. Participants are guaranteed reimbursement for accommodation and travel, and the musical repertoire required varies in each stage, with detailed specifications provided for the selections, the Glocal Piano Project and the final stages. The judging panels are made up of international professionals, with strict rules of impartiality and a ban on contact with competitors.

The winner of the Busoni Prize, endowed with €30,000, is required to perform subsequent concert commitments, with smaller prizes up to sixth place and special prizes to be defined.
