49th Itria Valley Festival 2023
There are five operatic titles proposed this year by the Martina Franca festival, including numerous chamber music and symphonic concerts on the bill; the program is completed by appointments and in-depth meetings
The Itria Valley Festival, one of the most precious Italian musical events, which will take place from 18 July to 6 August 2023 to Martina Franca and in the splendid surrounding landscapes.

Characterized since its inception by the rediscovery of operatic titles and rare musical pages, the Itria Valley Festival comes to 49. edition with a rich and multifaceted program: developed by the artistic director Sebastian Schwarz, the program focuses on the buffo repertoire and operetta, to read with the necessary irony the social dynamics that have always distinguished the history of man.

Five o'clock works that will animate the evenings of the festival:

The Turk in Italy of Gioachino Rossini (1814), opening title July 18, The country of bells of Carlo Lombardo and Virgil Ranzato (1923) and three first performances, the world premiere in modern times de The Horace of Peter Auletta (1737), the first Italian in modern times de The Fowlers of Florian Leopold Gasmann (1759) and the world premiere in Italy de The lovely Bel-Boul (1874).

To get on the podium, notable names such as Michele Spotti, Fabio Luisi, Federico Maria Sardelli, Enrico Saverio Pagano is Francisco Soriano.

Alongside the opera productions, there will be numerous i concerts symphonic and chamber music which will follow one another against the backdrop of the Baroque scenery of Martina Franca and the exciting views of the Valle d'Itria.

The rich program will be completed by a series of appointments is follow-up meetings, held by top industry experts.
